Mircea Lucescu, the head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk, has said that he would not try to become an obstruction for any of his players who have the opportunity to go and join the best teams in the continent.

It has come to the news recently that the current Premier League title holders Chelsea wants the Brazil international Alex Texeira who has been a gun player for Shakhtar over the last 3-4 years.

Although, Lucescu denied that Shakhtar had had any official approach from the Blues, but, he made clear that if that happens to be the case in the coming days, the club would surely consider it.

Lucescu was quoted as saying, “Any offer which would be in the best interests of the players as well of the club, it would be taken into account and a positive decision would be made on that.”

“I would be proud as a manager to see someone, whom I have helped develop, play for the topmost clubs. It would make me feel that the efforts that me and my support staff have put in to nurture the young talents, it has gone in the right direction.”

“It’s something which has always been our intention, to work with the teenagers and get them to the standard where they are good enough to be a part of any club that is around.”

“However, as of now, Alex is one of ours and although his quality is already very high, I would want and hope that he gets even better as the time goes by.”

Teixeira, who is 26-year old and is an attacking playmaker by trade, has played 222 games for Shakhtar and has netted 89 times.

Before joining Shakhtar in 2010, Texeira used to play for Vasco da Gama in Brazil.
